Sesame Cabbage and Asparagus

A nice combination to serve over rice or buckwheat pasta

1-2 C chopped cabbage
about a dozen asparagus spears, chopped to 1" pieces, with tips separated

2 T oil

Sauce ingredients:
1 T sesame seeds
1 T sesame oil (100%)
2 t sherry or rice wine
2 t tamari or soy sauce
black pepper to taste
1 t cornstarch

Mix together the sauce ingredients and set aside.

Heat 1 T of oil in a wok and stir in sesame seeds and asparagus.   When asparagus becomes bright green, add 2 T water, put on the lid and let steam briefly.

Move the asparagus aside in the wok, add another 1 T oil, and stir in the cabbage and asparagus tips.  When they look tender, add the sauce and stir fry briefly  until the sauce becomes a thick glaze.
