Dulce de Leche Blondies
An
inspired study break resulted in these....
Buttered 8" square pan
Oven 350 degrees F
Time 17-20 minutes
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (if not milling
vanilla bean into flour)
Mill together:
125 grams soft wheat
2 inches of vanilla bean, cut
into 1/4 inch pieces
OR
3/4 cup + 1 tablespoon unbleached flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup toasted almonds, chopped
In a double boiler over medium low heat reduce the condensed milk until
golden and thickened.
Cream the butter until soft. Beat in sugar until
smoooth. Beat in the eggs and vanilla if using.
Whisk together the flour, salt and powder. Add to the creamed
mixture and stir until mixed.
Spread the batter in the greased baking pan. Bake in preheated
over 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and turn heat to 300 degrees. Pour the condensed
milk over the blondies and sprinkle with the almonds. Return to
the oven for 12-15 minutes. Remove from oven and wait as long as
you can stand before trying the first serving (I made it only 20
minutes).
